The "Why" of it

The "Why" of it
An email conversation caused me to do a bit of research on the political parties in America. I generally knew that the Deomocratic Party had ruled here in this country for about 100 years. With the losses only in l980,l982,1984, 1994, briefly in 2000 and, of course, nothing since.

What I discovered, however, was that the Left or some like type had actually been in power in this country since before 1825! There were the Whigs, Free Soil, Know Nothings and Bull Moose Progressives to name a few. When the Republican and Democratic Parties become more mainstream, these different parties split with half to the Republican and half to the Democrats. What I found instructive was that those in favor of a more agrarian country and pro slavery generally migrated throughout this period towards the Left side of ideology. This is simplistic, but the post needs to be as concise as possible.

Their true loss of power didn't really get achieved for any long period of time, until the current Bush Administration. Eight years out of power in 30 is difficult to say the least.

My focus, however, was on a group that had operated separately until the early 20th century when they merged with the Democrats. They were called the Douglas Democrats. They were largely responsible for Roosevelt's social programs before the WWII and have continued to increase in power gradually until the 1960's when their agenda became part of the anti-war movement. The first time they could and did change the direction of this country. Their "good intentions" for the rest of us based on their ideology created the road paved with gold that has led America to the Hades we have experienced in every part of our country since the 1970's.
They are not, in my opinion, so much Left as truly anti anything American. They believe that they are the leaders in an ideology that stresses the socialist meme of: we know what is best, we will make sure you follow what we say and you will pay with your taxes to make our wishes possible, and you can't do a thing about it!

That is where the hate and vicious vitrol come from, they have not been able to take the reins of this country and until George W. Bush they were confident that their time had come! Bush halted them. In the past five years, they have gradually been exposed for what they are. They have aligned themselves with the existing Fifth Column, Communists and Anarchists and 'hate' became their operative raison d'etre. The middle of the road, reasonable, moderate side of the Left is almost gone. And, as Kos has learned, no one can control them now.

This group has been part of the American landscape since before its inception and continues to this day. One question: do the supporters of these people understand what the goals are? Or, is the hatred too much to listen to reason.

So, is it any wonder why "they" hate America so much. Will Americans make the mistake of voting them in this year in the congress and then let Hillary/Kerry/Gore or some other with their goals gain the presidency?

"Human" Persons, some history

A small essay for Afarensis Anthropology. Evolution Science/Blog

It is we, us, that is indeed different. I have never considered the word "special" as it applies to modern man. Therefore, for me, the question I believe is still out there is: where did Cro-Magnon, modern man come from? I am certain that somewhere on the planet another sub species developed that ultimately became modern man. The theory that the Neandertals were wiped out by the modern humans "feels" right to me based on the ultimate development of modern humans into what has existed on this planet over 7000 years: barbarism everywhere. The bloodlust and cruelty that has been well documented for over 5000 years to this day, tells me, at least, clearly that modern humans, while having traits of previous primate lineage to whatever degree evolved differently.

It would be highly interesting to see another view of history, using Neandertals to present, just to be able to see if they would be so blindly brillant, stupid, cruel and loving. In fact, I have often speculated that there is a nano percentage of modern man that descended with Neandertal genes which allowed for a higher evolutionary level than the rest.

But, what do I know, I'm just an old broad that loves the subject but never got a chance to go to college and "dig in" so to speak. I'm awaiting the time when I can bravely say: beam me up Scotty.

I will respond to my brother's response of September 1, 2006. He is, I believe, wrong. I have not yet responded to him, but if he is wrong I get one up. A great bonus for me. Let's move on to Samson....

Samson and the Lesson (August 21, 2006)

Another discussion with my brother.

He writes:

I hope all is well.

Regarding Judeo-Christian values, you probably should know about Samson. His story is in the book of Judges. What do you think of his suicide?

Cheers,

##

Then Samson called to the LORD, saying, “O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray! Strengthen me, I pray, just this once, O God, that I may with one
blow take vengeance on the Philistines for my two eyes!” And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars which supported the temple, and he braced himself against them, one on his right and the other on his left. Then Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines!” And he pushed with all his might, and the temple fell on the lords and all the people who were in it. So the dead that he killed at his death were more than he had killed in his life.

-- Judges chapter 16 verses 28-30

On Aug 6, 2006, at 12:32 PM, Sue Harris wrote:

Took writing course 25 years ago. Had to pass English and did. I have been printed many times, but in the Letters to the Editor section and a poem in college. My writing forays don't count in the bowling life I used to lead.

I never meant to write as much as I did last night. Didn't even consider looking at the length until I pasted it to my blog...that is when I realized I'd gone too far without my usual revision methods which generally get the piece down to a third of what you saw. But, heh, you are family and I rarely ever put anything in print anywhere else I haven't rewritten many times.

The name I would ascribe, if I were to do such a thing and I really don't, would be "traditionalists", i.e., those who hold the Judeo-Christian values to heart, having nothing to do with religion.

What I sent you was completely raw, straight out of my head. I will compare yours and mine. I'll let you know

See? I am already doing it again. 'Nuff said.

I respond further:
I need more context to answer your question fully. However, consider that there were Islamofascists whose death would end this cancer in our world, then I too would do what Samson did. I will get Debi's bible and read about Samson, I only have a recollection from decades ago.

My next response:

Context, history is context. It seems to me that the Jews had a very difficult time following their God's commandments choosing material things over piety. Samson was spoiled, selfish and obsessed with women (sex?). He choose badly in most cases and had to suffer the consequences. Samson was not what I would call a caring, intelligent human being. Samson's belief in his strength caused heartache and death. Could it have ended any other way but as it did? Even in the end, he choose death. Suicide? I feel it was more vengeance against what he perceived happened to him. Is he not, in many way, a personification of Jews and humans in general: whine and do bad when things have not gone your way. That's my take.

Love, Sue

He responds:

You have a good perspective.

As you know, the people of Israel have been oppressed over the millennia, over and over again. Yet they have continually been saved by super heros such as Samson, with his great strength to overcome oppressors. Moses is another prototypical super hero who overcomes the great Egyptian oppressors, including countless Egyptian civilians, woman and elderly included and especially children, with genocidal scale plagues. Another is King David, who as a young boy, single handedly defeated the greatest Philistine warrior of all, Goliath. The list goes on and on.

In fundamental ways, the tiny nation of Israel has not changed. You can see Samon's strength in Israel today. Today it is again a world superpower (certainly the regional superpower) since it possesses nuclear weapons in its arsenal. Today too it remains under assault by its modern day Philistine enemies--a legacy of the ancient revelry between Cain and Abel.

The question I asked about Samson's death, should have been framed more sharply: Do you see him as the first vengeful "suicide bomber" killing thousands of civilians, woman and children and the elderly included, wreaking the divine wrath of the Lord to save Israel?

Me: No. What more can I say? My take is that he didn't do with hate but with vengeance, but not for his People, but because of the shame and the loss of his sight.

American Political Party

A Query to my baby brother:

August 30, 2006

I would ask a favor. I have done the best I could but don't have resources
available to me.

Would you do a bit of research of "Douglas Democrats"? When I originally
read about this group several years ago, I found some information. Then,
when I tried to get the information again, I couldn't find what I had originally
seen.

As I understood the original information I read it was a group that merged
with the Democratic Party in the 1930's. They merged because they weren't
able to get themselves elected.

If you have the time, I would appreciate it.

Douglas Democrat is a term for those politically aligned with Stephen
Arnold Douglas during the 1860 United States presidential election.
Douglas was a northern democrat. Douglas Democrats supported slavery
and after the civil war worked to oppose emancipation. Democrats
established the Jim Crow laws, and later in the 20th century worked
to oppose the civil rights movement. When the Democratic party
transformed itself into a party supporting the civil rights under
Johnson, the Southern Democrats (the present-day descendants of the
Douglas Democrats) moved to the Republican party. The Republican
Party was founded in 1854 as a coalition of former Whigs, Northern
Democrats, and Free-Soilers, all opposed to the expansion of
slavery. The Republican Party has undergone major realignments as
the Democratic Party has. The definition of either party is very
fluid of the long-term and apparently even interchangeable, as is
historically witnessed over and over again since the time of the
parties' respective inceptions.

More history about the Democratic and Republican Parties can be found
at

In 1858, Sen. Stephen A. Douglas, Democrat of Illinois, debated
Republican Abraham Lincoln on the question of slavery. Said Douglas
during one of those debates: "For one, I am opposed to negro
citizenship in any and every form. I believe this government was made
on the white basis. I believe it was made by white men for the
benefit of white men and their posterity forever, and I am in favor
of confining citizenship to white men, men of European birth and
descent, instead of conferring it upon negroes, Indians and other
inferior races."

So prevalent were these views in the Democratic Party that Douglas
was named its presidential candidate in 1860. Amazingly, Southerners
actually viewed Douglas as being too moderate on the slavery issue
and instead voted for Vice President John C. Breckinridge, a slave-
owner who also ran as a Democrat, thus splitting the pro-slavery vote
and allowing Lincoln to win.

The Democratic Party evolved from the political factions that opposed
Alexander Hamilton's fiscal policies in the early 1790s; these
factions are known variously as the Anti-Administration “Party” or
the Anti-Federalists. In the mid-1790s, Thomas Jefferson, and James
Madison organized these factions into a party and helped define its
ideology in favor of yeomen farmers, strict construction of the
Constitution, and a weaker federal government. They named it the
"Republican Party." Today the party is called the Democratic-
Republican Party (or simply the Democratic Party) to distinguish it
from the modern-day Republican Party. Following the civil war,
Douglas Democrats had constituted the southern block of the
Democratic party, and today are known as Conservative Republicans.
This is how the switch came about.

After the civil war, the Democratic Party held a lock on the South
for more than 100 years. All of the "Jim Crow" laws that prevented
blacks from voting and kept them down were enacted by Democratic
governors and Democratic legislatures. The Ku Klux Klan was virtually
an auxiliary arm of the Democratic Party, and any black (or white)
who threatened the party's domination was liable to be beaten or
lynched. Democrats enacted the first gun-control laws in order to
prevent blacks from defending themselves against Ku Klux Klan
violence. Chain gangs were developed by Democrats to bring back de
facto slave labor.

The New Deal Coalition established by Franklin Roosevelt began to
fracture as more Democratic leaders voiced support for civil rights,
upsetting the party's traditional base of conservative Southern
Democrats. After Harry Truman's platform showed support for civil
rights and anti-segregation laws during the 1948 Democratic National
Convention, many Southern Democratic delegates decided to split from
the Party and formed the "Dixiecrats", led by South Carolina governor
Strom Thurmond (who, as a Senator, would later join the Republican
Party). Over the next few years, many conservative Democrats in the
"Solid South" drifted away from the party. On the other hand, African
Americans, who had traditionally given strong support to the
Republican Party since its inception as the "anti-slavery party",
shifted to the Democratic Party due to its New Deal economic
opportunities and support for civil rights.

The party's dramatic reversal on civil rights issues culminated when
Democratic President Lyndon B. Johnson signed into law the Civil
Rights Act of 1964. Meanwhile, the Republicans were beginning their
infamous Southern strategy, which aimed to solidify the Republican
Party's electoral hold over conservative white Southerners. Southern
Democrats took notice of the fact that 1964 Republican Presidential
candidate Barry Goldwater had voted against the Civil Rights Act, and
in the presidential election of 1964, Goldwater's only electoral
victories outside his home state of Arizona were in the states of the
Deep South.

The degree to which the Southern Democrats had abandoned the party
became evident in the 1968 Presidential election when every former
Confederate state except Texas voted for either Republican Richard
Nixon or independent George Wallace, the latter a former Southern
Democrat. Defeated Democrat Hubert Humphrey's electoral votes came
mainly from the Northern states, marking a dramatic shift from the
1948 election 20 years earlier, when the losing Republican
candidate's electoral votes were mainly concentrated in the Northern
states.:

We continue...

As tribes grew larger, there became a time for us to choose an individual to help us make decisions that no longer could be by consensus. Jean Auel's descriptions in her first three books: Clan of the Cave Bear, The Mammoth Hunters, The Plains of Passage show just how these large tribes encompassing dozens of individuals probably functioned. You can clearly see the differentiation of types and better yet you can follow the tribe's thinking when one of their own becomes weak. Weak in the moral arena, not the physical one. You can begin to see the bias that develops but still, the tribes took care of its members. The tribe had not yet gone the two steps required to become what we are today.

The first step was greed. Greed for the unnecessary. Greed, our original sin. We have honed that particular emotion to the utmost. But, greed, nonetheless was not necessarily the bad thing it became. Greed allowed a higher level of curiosity and began the requirement of mind over the necessary to wanting. There is nothing that greed does not cover. Everything that can be achieved turns bad when greed is the prime motivator. The development of this emotion requires, in my belief, that unless the wanted "thing" is achieved, frustration over denial leads to hate against the who or what prevents its achievement. And still, the tribe system worked well overall to further advancement.

The second step was the discovery of how babies were actually made. No, this is not what you're thinking. In my philosophy, until mankind began to understand how babies were made, the sin of materialism wasn't of much use. Think about it: if you acquire "things" then you want to be assured that who get your "things" is related to you by blood. I mean, why give it over to friends or strangers if you have offspring that are yours. Offspring that also give you a "reason" to validate your acquisions. So they discovered how babies were made and then, guess what? Well, to insure that your seed was "your seed", women had to be prevented from allowing other seeds to take root. The millenium-old freedom which all members of the race had from the beginning to time to copulate by choice and at will had to be prevented. Sometime after we came together in large tribes, women began to be treated as chattel. And within just a few thousand years, we were by religion and power, legal chattel of the men in our lives. The freedoms enjoyed by all were then taken away from women but continued to be enjoyed by men. Now the concept of "kings" could begin and the consolidation of power within a group was completed. We are now sometime around the 10-15,000 years ago.

Now, to the GODs!

More

I need to establish some guidelines: definition of words is very important. What I think a word means may be different from how you define a word. An example: when I started in the loan business, we had Loan Officers...salespeople who sold the products. Today, however, they are called AE's or Account Executives.

See what I mean? Check this out in your own world. If you are young ask your parent's to find examples. Another reason definition is very important between people, is that what is intended may not be what is understood. "Nothing" is a word that means one thing to women and another to men!

When I use the word tribe, I mean a small group of people that are together to simply survive. Simply put, there is safety in numbers. It is easier to find food, find or make shelter and make sure that the offspring reach the age of maturity in order to insure the survival of the group.

It is still the same in the animal world as it is in the animal known as Homo Sapien Sapien: us. It will be useful to remember that there is nothing that has not happened before, no act, deed or emotion. Niether the causes for it or the reactions. We may be able to bomb out of existence hundreds, thousands, even millions, but the intent to do away with is the same, one to one or multiples.

As it was in the beginning, so it remains. The size of the group or tribes has changed dramatically. The reasons are still the same. The consequence of tribes today, however, have the possibility of obliterating us from the planet. That is different and will continue to be only more ominous.

Until Neanderthal, I believe, there were no "leaders". There were no egos. No desire for more than what was necessary.

Deviant Sexual Behaviour

Hmmmm. A blog is turning out to be a boon. I don't have to put it in writing with pen and paper, good for the fingers. I can put thoughts down as they come. Great!!

Homosexuallity is, for me, normal in the animal kingdom, and we are animals, after all.

But deviant behaviour is different...why?

It seems to be, to me, that something happened in the "civilizing" of humans that accounts for that. It is possible that it an aberration based on changed sexal mores in ancient peoples. Those laws being enforced.

Notes

Why the blue?

Where does pedophilia, serial killers, sex deviants come from?
Nature, nurture....?????

Continuation

Before, after and now, we continue to come together as "tribes"...groups that allow for the survival, procreation and safety issues to be enforced as a condition of becoming human.

We look now at what a tribe is all out: small groups, possibly no more than 20-40 individuals of women, men and children of varying ages. Their daily survival consisted of finding food for themselves and their offspring. Helping each other care for the young. Creating a safe place to be during the hours of sleep. And, still, they were preyed upon and faced the hourly threat of death at the force of nature. This scenario played out for millions of years and continues throught the planet.

Think about your own life. In order to have shelter, food and safety for yourselves and your young, your blood and marriage family still play a large part of your lives. They are your small tribe. Then, there is the larger tribe of community. School, church, neighbors, friends, your town/city officials and the police department and every other and sundry person that subscribes to your tribe. Our state and by definition, our country, America, is the largest tribe we belong to in this country. But, we also belong to a larger tribe of human beings, the Western Culture, wherever it appears throughout the world.

Why? Because those of us who are descended from Euopeans who came to the Americas almost five hundred years ago, established the set of rules we lived with until the l960's. We have shared history, values and beliefs. Have we been successful? Yes, most certainly. But, we are also changing rapidly from the past to a new present and our future will be determined not only by how we change and what, but, today we face the wrath of one tribe and its subsets: Muslims.

Again, the Query...why?

I have read several of Jean Auel's "Clan of the Cave Bear" series and she put in book form in much detail what was known and she posited a story based on her research, intuition and common sense about "who" we are that fleshed out my own thesis. Us, you and me and everyone else on this Earth is made up of genetic maps acquired for over 6 million years. But, who we are today is a result of cultural and societal systems that are about 20 thousand years. Societal systems that developed and adjusted and changed over time: concepts of laws, a need for rulers, structured beliefs in God the world around us slowly changed over time.

We survived as a species because we had no choice but to survive. We are today what we are because of what happened to us when we settled down and began to be "citified" and "civilized".
We lost the pure "tribal" identity that served us so well for over six million years ago. The "tribal" identity that allowed us to live, develop and continue.

Are tribes bad? No. They still offer the things we need in order to survive, procreate and be safe, until the last century. Everything has changed.

To Still the mind!

There are days, and then there are days. In my case it is not days...but years. There is much already written but not here with me so that I feel as if I've had a limb severed.

The Query has never changed: why? Unlike the past when books, magazines, newspapers, television kept one up to date, the Internet has added a dimension that I simply love! I can read, hear and see in two hours what it would have taken days before. I can view as many sides of an issue as I want all are well written pieces by numerous people with integrity and intelligence or not.

So my blog had only one published entry, because I hit the wrong button. The post however is about my newest nephew who is now doing perfectly normal. Thank someone's God. Although my brother says I am an atheist, I still say that I am an agnostic. I usually keep two windows open and can check the spelling or meaning of anything instantly! Wonderful, that.

My son dropped in, literally. He lives in Denver and found that there was a flight he could take in two hours that would put him in California with a return flight that would allow us to spend almost forty-eight hours together. Ah technology. It was absolutely the best Mother's Day gift he could have given me. In addition, although my daughter and her kids had flown out earlier to be with our oldest granddaughter at her 21st birthday, my youngest son dropped by to spend time with the brother and us. Greatest weekend in a long time.

Anyway, (my newest kitten is trying to type also) I have a need to write, maybe not well, but certainly long and enough that maybe I can get the mind to still. There isn't really much to write on the current events affecting this country and the world. But, that is not my main interest. My main interest is the why of the thing.

The thing is: how did we get from the beginning to this?

Sometime in the absolute distant past...say billions of years ago. Something one celled developed and became life. Then something of that beginning cell crawled out of the depth of those oceans eons ago, again billions. Some of those crawled back into the that sea. Were they the lucky ones? The others stayed and as life is, continued on towards the last second, of the last minute, of the last hour of the year of beginnings. We had arrived. Hairy, probably glaring, scared but curious with something called a brain. It had grown to such a size that the grey matter literally folded in on itself to allow itself to fit the boney structure covering it. We had lost tails, gills and we now stood up and our eyes were positioned in front on our faces. We were scared. There were things truly out in the night, and day as well, that looked to us as food. We looked at other things as food. We, had the same imperative as any other animal, then and now: to survive. Survival meant food, procreation and safety. Actually, not that much different from today, 6 million years later.

We left our birthplace, probably the continent of what today is Africa. We wandered all over the earth. We learned to cross glaciers, bodies of water and moved from continent to continent, evolving, evolving, evolving, until we crested a hill, so far as we know at this moment, somewhere in Europe as Cro-Magnons and looked at Neanderthals, a branch of our family, right in the face. We still don't know 100% what happened, but the Neanderthals disappeared...as other branches surely did and Cro-Magnon, us, became supreme. So far as we know, today.

Cro-Magnon, we still don't know "where" they officially came from. But we know that they are modern man and have taken over the Earth. And until about forty thousand years ago, their only offense was to gain intelligence, creativity and fortitude. Their curiousity never faltered. They had it simple, survive, procreate, safety. No different than today, except, that for the first time in the history of this planet and race of man, we are in serious danger of wiping ourselves off the map and every living thing as well!! What changed in those last few thousands of years. Well, that will be what this series of posts will be about: my opinion and the The Query...why!!

Barbarity "on demand"

God! I am a coward! I simply cannot watch the video provided by the murderous cowards of the Mulim Islamofascists!!!

Again and again and again in the course of my life I have asked the "Why?" question. And, over the course of my life I tried to find out the answer to so many of my "whys" and so their number decreased. Decreased until this cancer was brought to the light sufficiently that we had our MSM begin to do some coverage.

Today, however, the MSM is silent on the execution of a Atwar Bahjat? Why? I think because to report it in any way or to show pictures or give out the video would do two things: begin the destruction of the fallacy of the apologists' and the information her execution demonstrates. These "people", "animals", "beasts"...what to name them..are capable of the most atrocious type of hate imaginable. They don't just kill, efficiently, quickly. They enjoy the torture and the agonizing screams of their victims. They bathe in the prolongation of blood sport.

If there is a God, and I don't happen to belive there is, then these Islamofascists need to be done away with. No, no torture, but certainly a quick death. They show their ignorance of humanity for they have not yet joined it. Just like the young Jewish man in Europe, they roll in the brutality, gore and blood of what they do and love it? Grotesque! Abominable!

Joshua

A new life came into the world today, Joshua, but he may leave it in just a few days. He worked with his Mom for seven days to get here and now he may have a possible infection. The doctors need a couple of days before they know exactly what Joshua's outcome will be.

With so much hurt in the world, his parents in particular, don't need this additional pain. His father, my youngest brother, is one of the kindest and most honest humans on the face of the planet. If it is possible to say that someone is born without "sin", then my brother is that person. I wish them both all the white light in the universe.

And if their God takes Joshua as in their belief system, then I can only say that Joshua's soul needed to be here only briefly. Their God must have great need of a freshly born soul.

How do I write better than Dr. Sanity; Hugh Hewitt; MarK Steyn; Christopher Hitchens; George Will; Thomas Sowell or even Charles Krauthammer? I can't.

So the Query is how to write so that everyday people will understand what the issues of today are really all about?

To write simply or as Bill O'Reilly says "pithy". It is an unfortunate facet of my personality that I find being pithy the most difficult. Why? There are so many more underlying issues that contribute to any one point of view that unless one tries to dig deeper into the writer's intent, we get lost.

We may agree, disagree or remain neutral. Our depth of agreement or disagreement is often based on the filters we see and hear through and these filters come from not only who and what we are, but how we came to be who and what we are. From prebirth, in our genetic makeup are predispositions. Disease is one, mental ability and health another. But what dictates our ability to be "blind" when circumstances with which we disagree make us hate? We face the nature vs. nurture condundrum.

Who did we come from? Not just our parents, but our grandparents and back through time. All of these, I believe, have something to do with who and what we become. Dr. Sanity says "we are born narcissists". That is true. We care only that we are fed, kept dry, warm and and allowed to do whatever we want. True? Not so! We must first and last be loved and know that we are. As many of the babies during the Viet Nam War proved, just feeding, being kept dry and warm was not enough. There was no love in the equaltion. Too many, too few. So many babies parished.

Are grown ups any different? Perhaps only in the ability to sustain life without love. A sort of "little death" with air to breath and minimal attention to other physical needs. Something more than a "little death", it seems to me, inhabits those who hate. They are capable of attaining or maintaining whatever in their world is necessary to keep them alive, including the one most malevent emotion: hate. They can prosper, life long, enjoy the comforts they have or have not earned. But hate keeps them alive in a way that gives them meaning, they think.

Take George Clooney as an example. Good looking with a little boy smirk. But what is he really? What make George, George? Where and why did the hate come from? Why do we only now hear his point of view? He has been on this planet over forty years, so why now, why him? His contemporaries have given him a power to speak his hate and not be reviled. But where was George before his success on the small screen? He is not a great actor, director, writer. So what made him so virulent in his passionate hate?

George Clooney has the good fortune to "make it" in his world in this time. Whether earned or not is immaterial. He is a childish man. A womanizing man. A disrespectul man. And, he does not have the necessary ability to see himself as "those out of his mainstream". Why?

Factoid

I wonder what people would answer if I asked: what has killed more Americans, war or the automobile? The answer is truly astonishing and says a great deal about us as Americans: since 1775, about 1 million people have perished from wars; and an astounding 2.5 million in automobile accidents.*

One of the most astounding aspects of this question and answer if that it took wars 210 years and it took the automobile only 92 years!

Now ask yourself how many people have been killed in the previous century because of despots throughout the world and the answer would be close to 200 million people. The aforementioned figure is an approximate one because it is impossible to know exactly how many people were actually done away with just in the Soviet Union under the Bolsheviks and then Stalin; in China under Mao not to mention numerous countries all around America.

But, more importantly, these figures don't apply to living people. So, how many people do you think live in gross conditions all around the world? I would guess close to 5 billion! For these human beings, nothing has changed in hundreds, possibly thousands of years.

Another question: why does the left in the world believe that the only way to help is to allow a totalitarian government to rule? Why does the left ignore the plight of people in the rest of the world when despots rule?

The Query should be "why does anyone like the U.S.?"

For the past few years as I wandered through the jungle of the internet and finally found blogging, I spent most of my "thinking" time with pen and paper or, finally, in Word.

The past two years, I've started my day reading those "blogs" that I have found to be reasonable, intelligently written, truthful and informing. I have, alas, also come across a very few of the "hate gang" blogs. I have discovered that I cannot give much time, if any, to haters. I get enough of that from what little "news" I read or listen to on a daily basis. So, I have finally come to blog myself. Very slow starter, but I hope to be wiser about what my blogging will be.

I have a list of first thing in the morning blogs I visit and usually within less than a couple of hours, I have most of what's going on in my head. I have chuckled a lot when I read or hear something that the MSM in print or voice takes several days to get out.

The hate has escalated beyond what I consider normal. And the Query that I have spent considerable time pondering these past few months is, not, why they hate the U.S. and conservatives/traditionalists: why would they like us?

Most homo sapiens are born to spend their lives thinking in terms of their daily lives. Not the past or the future. Everything that happens is in the now without thought to the why. Homo sapiens are happiest when they get to do whatever they want, when they want it. Get what they want however they have to get it. Caring about themselves to the exclusion of every other homo sapien out there.

So, it should come as no surprise that "hate" is the operative emotion from these types. So why should they like human beings? And, human beings are, you see, those types that started the philosophy of freedom beginning with the Greeks and down throughout history ending with those white men who jeporidized their entire lives and those of their families to work out a system that became the United States of America. No, not perfect. Far from it. But, consensus is, afterall what makes life worth living. They started with an ideal. That all men are created equal and are endowed by their "creator" with the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Notice they didn't say happiness. They said the pursuit of happiness. Was each person involved happy about everything that had been set in place? Of course not! But, they knew exactly what they did not want: to be ruled by kings, tribal elders, religionists of any stripe and, most importantly, by persons to took power into their hands. They knew that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Little Things

Today, the left Republic of California is working on passing a new restriction to our liberty: making smoking in a moving vehicle when minors are present against the law...among other restrictions.

I know, I know...the world is reeling about the Hamas win today. Why is the world shocked? It is simple to me: the Muslim World hates the Jewish people and it's state and they almost hate their leaders as much as the Jews. At the very least, now Hamas has to deal with "leadership".

Aaron Brown, former anchor at CNN, writes that the news today is nothing but lies, yada, yada. He, and the MSM can't understand that his criticizism should be wholly self directed.

Nothing in the news about the new "white" race mutation gene found only in caucasions...

Nothing about the "planatoid" beyond Pluto.

Nothing about the new nano technology in medicine.

Same old...same old.

Confusion

Wow. Months since I tried my hand at posting. Months. However, I'm still trying to understand this and will continue to try. For the time being I will draft "post" until I get it down somewhat.
